Karnataka CM To Issue New SOPs After Meeting On Omicron Variant

Karnataka government is set to issue detailed SOPs and guidelines amid the concern of COVID-19 Omicron variant, said CM Basavaraj Bommai on November 3. He'll also attend a meeting with experts and senior officials for the same. ''New SOPs will be formed after I've a meeting with experts at 1 PM,'' said CM Bommai. Earlier on November 2, two men were found positive for the variant in the state.

J&K Police Lends Rs 1 Lakh From His Pocket To 90-Year-Old 'Chana' Vendor

Abdul Rehman, 90, roadside "channa" vendor in Srinagar's Bohri Kadal district, on November 14, was looted of his personal money by robbers. He had set aside the funds for his final rites. The burglars assaulted Rehman and took Rs 1 lakh from him. Senior Superintendent of Police Sandeep Chaudhary stepped in to assist him and gave him Rs 1 lakh out of his own money, which made the seller happy.

Covid Testing Is Mandatory For Foreign Travellers At K'taka Airports

Karnataka government has said passengers from countries where cases are rising will be subjected to Covid-19 testing at the airports. The decision covers passengers coming from South Africa, Brazil, Bangladesh, Botswana, China, Mauritius, New Zealand, and Zimbabwe as well as European countries. Cinema Halls To Be Open From Oct 22 As Per SOPs: Maha Govt

Maharashtra government has issued the SOPs to open cinema halls and open-air programs from October 22 in the state after almost one and a half years. Reportedly, the cinemas, theatres, and multiplexes can only run on 50% of the total capacity. Besides, the rules are mandatory: the Aarogya Setu app, thermal screening of visitors, adequate social distancing. However, non-vaccinated persons can enter the theatre.

Schools Will Reopen In Tamil Nadu For Classes 1 to 8 From Nov 1

Following a meeting chaired by Chief Minister MK Stalin, the Tamil Nadu government on September 28 decided to reopen schools from class 1 to 8 from November 1. Further, the government stated that the decision was taken before consulting medical experts, parents, and academicians. Reportedly, learning gaps due to the closure of schools caused a lot of stress to students. However, every school has to follow the SOP.
