SC Reviews Plea Seeking Extension Of BCCI Administrators' Tenure, Adjourns For July 20

The Supreme Court adjourned the hearing of the Board of Control for Cricket in India's plea, seeking an extension of the tenures of Sourav Ganguly as BCCI President and Jay Shah as Secretary. Furthermore, in the petition, the BCCI also requested to make amendments to the constitutional rule that BCCI administrators need to have three-years cooling-down period after serving for six-years. The SC listed the matter for July 20.

IPL Media Rights: With Per Match Value Of Rs 104 Crore, IPL Surpasses EPL, Trailing NFL

Indian Premier League (IPL) has surpassed the English Premier League (EPL) in terms of per match valuation, following the successful e-auction of IPL's media rights on June 12. Sourav Ganguly, president of Board of Control for Cricket in India, declared that IPL produces more revenue than EPL. The current per-match value of IPL is over Rs 104 crore ($13. 4 million), which is more than EPL, which generates $11 million.

Skipper Virat Kholi Steps Down As India's Test Captain After 7 Years

Indian Skipper Virat Kohli on January 15 announced to step down as Indian Test Captain after serving for 7 years. Reacting to Kohli's decision the BCCI president Sourav Ganguly said, his decision to step down as captain was a "personal one" and the board respects his decision. Earlier, in 2021, he had stepped down as the T20 captain. Notably, the decision comes after India lost the Test series against South Africa.

The BCCI President Sourav Ganguly, tested positive for COVID-19 on December 27 night, in Kolkata. BCCI To Compensate Junior Players, Umpires For IPL Postponement

BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has announced that the junior players affected by the postponement of the IPL 2021 will be compensated in June-July. Besides, he also assured that the umpires and scorers "will all get their fees".
