Delhi Govt Gives Rs 1,051 Cr To Municipal Corps To Pay Workers' Salary
Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia on May 15 announced Rs 1,051 crores fund for three municipal corporations to pay salaries to employees and healthcare workers. Allocating Rs 367 crore, Rs 432 crore and Rs 251 crore for east, north and south corporations respectively, Sisodia stated the funds should be used to pay salaries and not “diverted for other uses". He also accused Municipal Corporations of Delhi of "mismanagement and corruption".

South Delhi Municipal Corporation Names Road After Sushant Rajput
To honour late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput on his birthday, the South Delhi Municipal Corporation renamed Inder Colony's road as 'Late Sushant Singh Rajput Marg' on January 21. Congress councillor Abhishek Dutt clarified the motive was inspired by Sushant's impact on the area's youth. Besides, Dutt stated that the nomenclature was non-political and the decision was taken after discussion with all parties, including AAP and BJP.

Delhi Municipal Staffs Go on Strike Over Non-Payment Of Salaries
Over the non-payment issue, several employees under the Municipal Corporation of north, east and south Delhi have called for an indefinite strike from January 7. Setting Up Of Kiosks To Sell Eatables At South Delhi Municipal Parks Soon
The South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) has planned to install booths in parks to sell fruits, milk and basic items to boost the pandemic-hit corporation's financial condition. The SDMC will provide 4.5 x 2.5 metres temporary sheds on rent that can be operated during fixed hours. The corporation will table the proposal in the next meeting. The kiosks will be provided for a maximum of seven years by the auction method.
