Southwest Monsoon Onset In Kerala On June 8, IMD
The southwest monsoon hit India on June 8, with its onset over Kerala, a week later than normal, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) announced. The Meteorologists earlier said Cyclone 'Biparjoy' had been impacting the intensity of the monsoon and that its onset over Kerala would be "mild". In a statement, the IMD said, "The southwest monsoon has set in over Kerala today, June 8."

Parts In Mumbai Region Witnessed Rainfall In Wee Hours
Several parts of Mumbai in Maharashtra, received moderate to light rainfall on June 19. The rainfall occurred after the southwest monsoon entered the region of Maharashtra, which came as a relief to the people, after scorching heat with the temperature over 42 degrees celsius. Furthermore, although the southwest monsoon entered a week back, the rainfall was witnessed, which IMD has been predicted to continue for the next four days.

IMD Issues Widespread Rainfall, Thunderstorm In Bihar, UP
The Indian Meteorological Department claims the southwest monsoon to move slowly towards Delhi's neighbouring states, as trends did not suggest any sustained rainfall in the area. However, they predicted fairly widespread to widespread rainfall in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Uttarakhand in the next 24 hours after which the rainfall is expected to cease. Besides, IMD has warned of injuries ''to people and animals staying outdoors.''
