PM Modi Says, Nit Far When India Will Have Spacecraft To Travel Moon

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said the government has drawn up a roadmap for the development of space sector and that day was not far when an Indian will travel to the Moon in an indigenously built spacecraft. PM said, India’s Gaganyaan will soon ferry Indian astronauts to space and the country also plans to establish its own space station. "We have drawn a strong roadmap till 2040."

China Successfully Launches Cargo Resupply Spacecraft Tianzhou-2

China on May 29 successfully launched an automated cargo resupply spacecraft, Tianzhou-2 from Wenchang Space Launch Center in the southern islands of Hainan. The spacecraft, said to autonomously dock with key module Tianhe, will supply necessities to astronauts and propellant to maintain the orbital altitude. China's three-module space station is set to rival the International Space Station backed by the United States, Russia and Japan.

NASA Shares Picture Of Martian Dunes On Odyssey's 20th Anniversary

Celebrating 20 years of Mars Odyssey orbiter, NASA has released an image showing blue and golden dunes on Mars' northern polar caps. Covering 30km area, the photograph's colors are generated by surface temperatures i.e blue for cold and yellowish-orange for warm. China's Tianwen-I Installed In Martian Orbit For Surface-Mapping

The China National Space Administration informed that the Tianwen-I spacecraft had been established in the temporary parking orbit of Mars before its descent onto the surface. Reportedly, the spacecraft will now remain in the orbit for next three months intending to map the Martian surface and landing site. China's spacecraft is the third to reach Mars this month and will be the second nation after the US to land a rover, if successful.

China's Chang’e-5 Successfully Touches Down On Moon

China has successfully retrieved lunar surface samples as the Chang’e-5 spacecraft has touched down on the Moon. Named after the mythical Chinese moon goddess, the spacecraft entered the Moon's orbit after a 112-hour journey from Earth and would collect two kilograms of surface material from a previously unexplored area. The sample will be brought to the Earth in December. China is now mulling over a research mission to Mars.
