Spain Defeats Czech Republic In UEFA Nations League Group A2

Spain defeated the Czech Republic, maintaining La Roja's unbeaten record in UEFA Nations League Group A2 and advancing them to the top of the group. Spain took over first place in the group by a point, profiting from Portugal's loss in Switzerland, and moved four points ahead of Silhavy's third-placed team. Spain has won 18 consecutive games and 15 of their past 16 UEFA Nations League games.

Iranian Man Breaks Guinness World Record, Balances 85 Spoons Over Body

An Iranian man balanced 85 spoons over his body to create a Guinness World Record. Abolfazl Saber Mokhtari (50), showed his unique talent and broke records by holding 85 spoons over his body, which is a talent he reportedly has had since childhood and can hold any object over the body. Mokhtari said, after practice and dedication, he broke Spain's Marcoz Ruis Ceballos's record of holding 64 spoons.

Badminton player Lakshya Sen was honoured by Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami for winning a medal at the BWF Championships, 2021 held in Spain. Meanwhile, the CM bestowed a cheque for Rs 15 lakh to Sen and wished him to win a gold medal at the championship. The 20-year-old shuttler belongs to Uttarakhand's Almora district, reported PTI. He won a bronze medal at the championship.

Shuttler Srikanth Becomes 1st Indian To Win Silver: World Championships

Badminton player Kidambi Srikanth became the first Indian to win a silver at the BWF World Championships in Spain on December 19. Although he won a silver, he felt sorry for losing against Singapore's Loh Kean Yew in the final by 21-15, 22-20. ''I just wasn't able to finish it, but he played very well,'' said Srikanth. However, Loh also became the first male player to win gold from Singapore.

Russia Defeats Croatia To Win Davis Cup After 15 Years

Russia's Daniil Medvedev defeated Croatia's Marin Cilic to win the Davis Cup in Madrid on December 6. Medvedev secured the match by 7-6 (7), 6-2 against Cilic. The win has come after 2006 when Russia won its first Davis Cup, reported PTI. ''I'm more happy for the team than for myself,'' said Medvedev. Earlier, Russia's Andrey Rublev also won against Croatia's Borna Gojo, giving Russia a lead.

Volcano Erupts On Spain's La Palma Island; 5K People Evacuated

Over 5000 people were evacuated on Spain's La Palma island, part of the Canary Islands archipelago, before the volcanic eruption on September 19. Reportedly, an earthquake magnitude of 4.2 also jolted the island before the eruption and the last eruption was reported here in 1971. Meanwhile, the president of La Palama island, Mariano Hernandez said, ''There are no immediate reports of death but the lava flows made him concerned".

Football Dominated City Barcelona To Construct First Cricket Ground

Soon Barcelona is preparing to build its first cricket ground. Reportedly, the citizens in an initiative have offered the plan to invest $1.4 million to build a cricket pitch. The ground will likely be built on a hilltop location standing side to Barcelona's Olympic stadium. Approximately, there are 400 cricketers divided into 25 men’s and women’s teams in the city. “We will have our field here,” said team coach Shahbaz Shauqad.
