The Supreme Court allowed SpiceJet to pay Credit Suisse $1 million per month for six months, and $500,000 per month thereafter, to clear its dues to the global investment bank. On September 22, the Apex Court noted that SpiceJet is behind on monthly payments by $3 million. he Hon’ble Supreme Court has noted our compliance with its previous orders, agreeing with the proposal of paying in six months, said SpiceJet.

Promoter and Managing Director of SpiceJet Ajay Singh, has been granted extension of interim protection by Delhi High Court, in an alleged cheating case. This has come after the counsel representing the state seemed for more time to verify the contents of the additional affidavit filed by the petitioner. The court had also ordered that until the matter is decided, no coercive action shall be taken against Singh.

The licence of pilot-in command (PIC) of a SpiceJet flight has been suspended by Director General of Civil Aviation, informed sources on August 20. The suspension has come after the PIC’s co-pilot had asked him to not to fly through the clouds, rather skirt the clouds ahead, to which the PIC ignored. The Boeing B737 carried 195 passengers on board from Mumbai to Durgapur.

Delhi High Court denied a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) that asked the court to order SpiceJet Ltd to cease all flight operations in light of recent safety problems the low-cost carrier has encountered. After determining that there was no basis to admit the petition, a division bench declined to hear it. According to PIL filed, airline should suspend operations to avoid a major accident that might endanger lives of people. 

In another technical issue, SpiceJet had to do an emergency landing of its Dubai-Madurai flight. Notably, on July 11, a Spicejet B737 aircraft VT-SZK Max aircraft's nose wheel malfunctioned, following which the authority did ground the craft and arranged another flight immediately, for Dubai-Madurai.
