Taliban government Orders UN Female Staff In Afghanistan To Wear Hijab While Reporting To Work

Female staff employees of the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan have been ordered to wear the hijab by the Taliban-led administration. The Ministry for the Propagation of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice's staff will stand outside the UN headquarters to "monitor if hijab is used or not." If a female employee is spotted without a hijab, they will "politely" remind them that it is compulsory outdoors.

Restaurant Owner Kidnaps Neighbour To Pay Worker In Gandhinagar

Reeling under financial crisis and unable to pay salaries to his staff, a restaurant owner from Gujarat got his neighbour abducted to clear his dues with the ransom money. In addition, the police arrested Mitul Patel, 35, from Kalol while seven others have fled. Notably, the kidnapping happened on March 30 along with four of his employees who were demanding a pay hike.

UN Slams Ethiopia For Ordering 7 Officals To Leave Within 72 Hours

The United Nations on October 1 warned Ethiopia after it ''declared a persona non grata'' or unwelcome for seven UN officials on October 1. Ethiopia also ordered them to leave the country within 72 hours for ''meddling'' in the country's internal affairs. The UN said the declaration was wrong as it only applied between states and ''UN is not a state''. Besides, Tigray in Ethiopia is facing ''unprecedented'' malnutrition.
