The Kerala Police arrested an employee of a medical college hospital in Kozhikode for allegedly sexually assaulting a patient while she was semi-conscious after undergoing surgery. The incident happened on March 18, but came in light on March 20. Notably, C Saseendran, the accused who was immediately suspended from service, went absconding after police booked him. Female staff employees of the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan have been ordered to wear the hijab by the Taliban-led administration. The Ministry for the Propagation of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice's staff will stand outside the UN headquarters to "monitor if hijab is used or not." If a female employee is spotted without a hijab, they will "politely" remind them that it is compulsory outdoors.

The United Nations on October 1 warned Ethiopia after it ''declared a persona non grata'' or unwelcome for seven UN officials on October 1. Ethiopia also ordered them to leave the country within 72 hours for ''meddling'' in the country's internal affairs. The UN said the declaration was wrong as it only applied between states and ''UN is not a state''. Besides, Tigray in Ethiopia is facing ''unprecedented'' malnutrition.
