Standup Comedian Kunal Kamra's Show Cancelled In Gurgaon

Once again the show of Comedian Kunal Kamra has been cancelled in Gurgaon, Haryana. Notably, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leaders demanded the cancellation of his show amid jokes on Hindu diety, and submitted a letter to the Deputy Commissioner. It is to be noted that Kamra's show was scheduled in Gurgaon on September 17 and 18, at Studio Xo bar in sector 29, Gurgaon.

Vir Das Called Out By Netizens For His Alleged Transphobia Comments

Comedian Vir Das' recent comments on trans people and pronouns in the latest episode of his tropical standup series #Tenonten has upset netizens. The video on Das' YouTube channel shows him speaking about cancel culture. Many Twitter users called out his transphobia statement, saying "transpeople can discard organs that are not working properly" or kids will have longer chapters citing the "complications" of pronouns is not funny.

Standup Comics Jailed For Hurting Religious Sentiments In Indore

Acting on a complaint by Hindu Rakshak Sanstha, the Indore police have arrested five stand-up comedians while performing at a cafe for New Year's event. Reportedly, they were charged for allegedly insulting Hindu culture and for mocking Home Minister Amit Shah. The comics have been charged under IPC Sections 295-A, 298, 269,188 and 34.
