Tripura Elections 2023 To 6o Member Assembly Begins

Tripura is all set for the State Assembly elections on February 16. This time, the state is witnessing a three-cornered fight between, the BJP, the Congress and CPI(M). Approximately 28 lakh voters, including over 13.5 lakh women will decide the fate of 259 candidates in the fray. Voting at 3,337 polling stations started at 7 am and will continue till 4 pm, and results will be announced on March 2.

After winning the Bhabanipur byelection with over 58,000 votes, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee is set to take oath as an MLA at the State Assembly on October 7. Informing the development, TMC's General Secretary Partha Chatterjee said the party invited Governor Jagdeep Dhankar to administer the oath ceremony. However, Dhankar said he would take a call after the gazette notification on the Bhabanipur byelection result would be issued.
