Jammu & Kashmir Article 370 Issue; SG Tushar Says Statement Of Govt On August 31, Seeks Time
During theSupreme Court hearing, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, representing the Centre, told the court that the move to bifurcate Jammu and Kashmir into the UTs of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh was a "temporary measure". He said while Jammu and Kashmir would be reverted as a state in the future, Ladakh would remain a union territory. Furthermore, the Indian Government would give a statement on August 31.

EC Registers 'Ikkjutt Jammu' As New Political Party: J&K
The Election Commission of India registered ''Ikkjutt Jammu'' as a new political party in Jammu and Kashmir, said the party chief Ankur Sharma. The EC gave its approval to the party on December 29, as per PTI. Reportedly, Ikkjutt Jammu demands separate Jammu statehood. ''Recognition of Ikkjutt Jammu...has come at a critical point in the history of Jammu,'' added Sharma.
