NITI Aayog Meeting 2023 Begins In Delhi
The 2023 NITI Aayog Governing Council meeting, begins, with the participation of state CMs. and health officials, from across India. The eight edition will deliberate on several issues including, health, skill development, women empowerment and infrastructure development. The major aim of the meeting is to make India a developed nation by 204, and will be chaired by PM Narendra Modi, in Delhi. Moreover, eight parties decided to skip it.

ECI Announces By-Election Schedule For 7 Assembly Constituencies In 6 States

Union Ministry Writes To States, UTs Amid Covid-19 Rise
Amid the rising number of Covid-19 cases, the Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan has written to all States and Union Territories, on June 9. As per the source, the Union Health Ministry urged all states/UTs to work for the progress of controlling the pandemic, and bring back restrictions to prevent Covid-19 spread. Furthermore, on June 9, India reported over 7,000 new Covid-19 cases with decreased 98.71% recovery rate.

Finance Ministry Clears Rs 96,576 Crore To States As GST Compensation
The Union Finance Ministry has released Rs 96,576 crore to states and Union Territories (UTs) to cover the revenue shortfall in connection with the implementation of Goods and Services Tax (GST). In addition, the Centre has provided an additional Rs 1.59 lakh crore in the form of back-to-back loans to states and UTs. Notably, the Centre also gave a nod to extend the GST compensation cess till March 2026.
