Statewide lockdown

As the COVID-19 cases continue to mount in Kerala, the state government on May 6 announced a state-wide lockdown from May 8 to 16. Notably, Kerala recorded 41,953 new cases on May 5, taking the total number of cases to 17, 43,932, which prompted the government to impose stricter restrictions. However, the state government has already imposed a night curfew and weekend restrictions to curb the spread.
