Rupee Gains By 14 Paise, Stands At 98.74 Against US Dollars
The rupee gained 14 paise to 81.67 against the US dollar in early trade on July 25, tracking the weakness of the American currency in the overseas market. However, a surge in crude oil prices capped sharp gains for the local unit, forex traders said. At the interbank foreign exchange, the domestic unit opened at 81.74, then touched a high of 81.67 against the American currency.

HDFC Bank To Acquire 9.94% Stock In Go Digit Life Insurance
HDFC Bank, India's largest private-sector lender, announced 9.94% stake in Go Digit-Life Insurance. According to a regulatory statement to stock exchanges, HDFC and Go Digit-Life Insurance entered into an "indicative and non-binding term sheet" on August 25 for two tranches totaling between Rs 49.9 crore and Rs 69.9 crore. Zomato Shares Fall 23% Following Announcement Of Purchase Of Blinkit
Zomato's acquisition of instant delivery service platform Blinkit did not go over well with investors, as the company's shares have dropped more than 20% since the announcement. On June 24, Zomato's Board of Directors authorized to purchase of Blinkit for Rs 4,447 crore. Zomato shares closed at Rs 54.9 on July 1, down around 23%. According to National Stock Exchange statistics, the company's current market value is Rs 43,147 crore.
