Stone Pelting

Police in Delhi have detained one person for alleged involvement in "stone pelting" at police officers who were probing the Jahangirpuri violence Incident, on April 18. The incident occurred at C-Block in Jahangirpuri, and a brick was thrown at Delhi police crime branch, reported ANI. Commenting on the incident, Delhi police said, it "was was minor, one-off incident. Legal action is being taken". Further details are awaited.

The Amravati police commissionerate on November 13 imposed Section 144 in Maharashtra's Amravati district till further orders. The order came after a mob pelted stones on shops at various places in the district during a bandh called by a saffron body. The bandh was called to protest against stone-pelting incidents during the rallies organised by Muslim organisations on November 12 who were protesting against communal violence in Tripura. 

Palestinians and the Israel Police were again engaged in an exchange of violence on May 21, just hours after Israel and Hamas agreed on Gaza ceasefire. Reportedly, the police were attacked by the Palestinians with stones and explosives while guarding a gate at the Al-Aqsa mosque. However, the security forces also responded with stun grenades.
