Srinagar-Jammu National Highway Reopens For Stranded Vehicles
A one-way traffic on Srinagar-Jammu highway was resumed for stranded vehicles from Jammu towards Srinagar on January 24, after remaining closed for two days, due to landslide and shooting stones. The highway remained shut on January 23 after inclement weather, and took time in restoration as a loaded truck was stuck in mudslide. Following clearance, traffic was resumed for stranded vehicles after the hectic efforts of Traffic Police.

Kolkata Fire: PMO Gives Rs 2L; CM Mamata Promises Rs 10L, Job For Deceased's Kin
The Centre has announced Rs two lakh compensation for the kin of deceased who lost their life in the fire that broke out on March 8 at the Eastern Railway building in Kolkata. The PMO also announced Rs 50,000 aid for seriously injured victims. Meanwhile, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee promised a job and Rs 10 lakh to the families affected.
