Operation Kaveri Continues, 530 Indians Evacuated From Sudan

India has evacuated more than 530 of its citizens from Sudan using military aircrafts with more to be taken out of the northeast African country amid a lull in fighting between the regular army and a rebel paramilitary force. The evacuation began on Tuesday after forces loyal to the Sudan Army chief, Gen Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, and his deputy-turned-rival, Gen Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, agreed on 72-hour nationwide ceasefire.

Sudan Violence: Operation Kaveri Begins To Evacuate Stranded Indians

Amid the Sudan issue and violence, the Indian Government led by the BJP started Operation Kaveri.  The operation to evacuate the Indian nationals in the region.Operation Kaveri gets underway to bring our citizens stranded in Sudan. About 500 Indians have reached Port Sudan. More on their way. Our ships and aircraft are set to bring them back home." tweeted External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar.

Operation Ganga To Evacuate 8000 Stranded Indians From Ukraine

Indian flight, under "Operation Ganga" will depart from  Bucharest, airlifting 8,000 evacuated Indians from Ukraine, confirmed Indian Government, on March 9.  With this, the Ministry of External Affairs confirmed to bring back all 18,000 Indians who were stranded in war torn Ukraine, after the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Furthermore, under operation Ganga, India operated 75 commercial flights and 12 missions of IAF to airlift Indians.
