Indore Doctor Beats Woman Vendor Over Parking Dispute, Video Goes Viral
A doctor from Indore reportedly thrashed a female vegetable vendor, over parking dispute. On January 16, a video went viral on social media, which showed a group of doctors, allegedly beating a the vendor named Dwarka Bai and his son. They even overturned the vendor's cart of potatoes. The reported incident happened at Bhanwarkua region on January 13, after Dwarka Bai asked the doctor to move his car.

Govt Releases Rs 2,714 Crores Under PM SVANidhi Scheme
The Central Government released Rs 2,714 crore, under PM Street Vendor's AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi Scheme), on December 20. As per the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, a total of 30.75 lakh beneficiaries were sanctioned loans under the scheme, of which 27.06 lakh people received the benefits. The beneficiaries, who received money, Include 41% of women in India.

J&K Police Lends Rs 1 Lakh From His Pocket To 90-Year-Old 'Chana' Vendor
Abdul Rehman, 90, roadside "channa" vendor in Srinagar's Bohri Kadal district, on November 14, was looted of his personal money by robbers. He had set aside the funds for his final rites. The burglars assaulted Rehman and took Rs 1 lakh from him. Senior Superintendent of Police Sandeep Chaudhary stepped in to assist him and gave him Rs 1 lakh out of his own money, which made the seller happy.

Viral Video; Delhi's Street Vendor Serves Gol Gappa In Leaf
A street vendor from an area called Chandni Chowk in Delhi went viral on social media for his unique style of serving gol-gappas in a leaf. The video was posted by a food blogger, Arjun Chauhan, which recieved almost three million views. The gol-gappas were seen stuffed with potato filling and channa, dipped in curd. It is served after garnishing with chutney, sev and masala.

A street food vendor from Ghaziabad went viral on social media platforms, receiving 1.5 million views in just two days. A 22-second short video was posted on a youtube channel, @foodieincarnate, in which the street vendor was spotted making cheela with bare hands on a hot tawa, which blew people's minds on social media. Making it with bare hands has become the vendor's unique style of recognition.

Kolhapur: Cart Vendor Attacked For Using Toilet Water In Pani Puri
A pani puri vendor in Maharashtra's Kolhapur was attacked by people for allegedly using toilet water to prepare a dish. Caught on camera, he was seen filling his can with toilet water and then mixing it in his pani puri. When people came to know about this they attacked his cart and destroyed everything. 'PM SVANidihi' Scheme Registers More Than 20 Lakh Applicants
Under 'PM Street Vendor's Atmanirbhar Nidhi' (PM SVANidihi) scheme, the Centre has received over 20 lakh applications.
