Submarine Titan; Pilot & 4 Passengers Reportedly Died: US Coast Guard

After days of search and rescue operation, the US Coast Guard confirmed that pilot and four passengers in the lost Submarine Titan are dead. On June 23, John Mauger of the US Coast Guard said, "Our most heartfelt condolences go out to the friends and loved ones of the crew." The submarine Titan went underwater to your wreck site of Titanic lost contact on June 18, following which rescue started.

Navy Chief Commissions INS Vela Submarine To Indian Navy: Mumbai

INS Vela submarine has been commissioned to Indian Navy, on November 25. Navy Chief Admiral Karambir Singh commissioned the new submarine in Mumbai. The new INS Vela Is expected to enhance the strength of the Indian Navy, with an ability to carry out an "entire spectrum of submarine operations." Notably, India has two INS Vela submarines, one in Visakhapatnam and now in Mumbai, to guard India's maritime interests.

Russia Tests Its Maiden Hypersonic Cruise Missile From Submarine

Russia announced its first successful test launch of a Tsirkon (Zircon) hypersonic cruise missile from a submarine on October 4. The missile was launched by the Severodvinsk submarine in the Barents Sea and also hit its decided target, said the Russian defense ministry. President Vladimir Putin has also praised the weapon which is part of a new generation of unrivaled weapons systems in the world.

DRDO To Indigenously Develop Nuclear Attack Submarines In India

Three out of the six nuclear attack submarines are being 'Made In India' up to 95 percent. However, this would provide a big boost to the domestic defence sector including both private and public sector, said a government official. Reportedly, a proposal worth around Rs 50,000 crore has been requested to build three nuclear submarines by the DRDO in Visakhapatnam. Moreover, planners are confident of indigenously building the submarines.
