Indian Air Force Rescued 192 Stranded Indians From War Hit Sudan

In non-stop 24 hours flights, the Indian Air Force (IAF) rescued another batch of Indian nationals stranded in war hit Sudan. As per sources, in this IAF trip, the Indian air force officials flew the G-17 Globemaster-III aircraft and rescued Indians. Operation Kaveri Continues, 530 Indians Evacuated From Sudan

India has evacuated more than 530 of its citizens from Sudan using military aircrafts with more to be taken out of the northeast African country amid a lull in fighting between the regular army and a rebel paramilitary force. The evacuation began on Tuesday after forces loyal to the Sudan Army chief, Gen Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, and his deputy-turned-rival, Gen Mohamed Hamdan Daglo, agreed on 72-hour nationwide ceasefire.

Sudan PM Abdalla Hamdok Resigns Due To 'Political Crisis'

Sudan PM Abdulla Hamdok submitted his resignation from his post due to an ongoing "political crisis" in the country, on January 3. ''I announce to you my resignation...to make way for another person,'' said Hamdok. Reportedly, the crisis started since General Commander of the Sudanese Armed Forces, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan declared a state of emergency in October. However, it is not clear who will take up the post next.

Sudan Bars Entry Of Travellers From India As COVID Cases Rise

Sudan's Health Emergency Committee has announced that the travellers from India and those who visited India two weeks prior will be barred from entering the African country. The decision was taken as the B.1.617 variant has pushed India's COVID tally beyond 25-million mark. Besides, the committee also ordered to shut down schools for a month and warned of crossing the 1,00,000-cases mark if people do not follow the restrictions.

ONGC Exits From Sudan Due to Payment Issues; Dues of $430 Million Not Paid
