Sugarcane Crushing Season To Commence From October 15, Announces Maha Govt
The sugarcane crushing season for 2022-23 in Maharashtra is set to begin on October 15 instead of October 1. The decision was taken during high-level meeting chaired by Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde, in view of the ongoing rains mainly in the sugarcane-growing areas of the state. The meeting was held on September 19, at the Maharashtra Secretariat. Notably, Maharashtra is the third largest sugarcane producer in the world.
