Australia's Brisbane City Awarded To Host 2032 Summer Olympics

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has awarded the right of hosting the 2032 Summer Olympics to Australia. "The International Olympic Committee has the honor to announce that the Games of the 35th Olympiad are awarded to Brisbane, Australia," IOC President Thomas Bach said after a vote in Tokyo where the 2020 Tokyo Olympics will officially begin this week. "We will provide you with an unforgettable experience," added Bach.

Tokyo City Bans Public Olympic Torch Relay Amid Covid-19 Concerns

The Tokyo city administration has banned the public Olympic Torch relay events due to concerns over Covid-19. After being delayed several times due to the pandemic, the summer Olympics will finally take place in 2021. According to officials, the decision to host a private flame lighting ceremony was taken to contain the spread of Covid-19. The ceremony will take place on 23rd July 2021 and will be streamed online for spectators.
