IMD Issues Heatwave Alert For Indian States

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an alert for several states of India, amid rising temperature. In Odisha, alert has been issued till April 15, asking people not to venture out in scorching heat. India Witnesses Scorching Heat; Delhi Records 41 Degrees Celsius

Amid warm heatwave, the mercury levels increased, taking the temperature over 40 degrees Celsius in cities like Delhi, Allahabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Jhansi, Lucknow, and others. Northern Indian Plains To Witness 3-4°C Temperature Drop, Says IMD 

The scorching heatwave over the north Indian plains and hills has subsided while no heatwaves are likely to be experienced in the next five days, IMD said. The temperature is expected to drop by 3-4°C in the next five days. The fall in temperature is due to the south-westerly winds from the Arabian Sea.
