KKR V/S Sunrisers Hyderabad, KKR Opts For Bowling: IPL 2023

Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss and skipper Nitish Rana elected to bowl first against the Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Eden Gardens on Friday. There’s no change for KKR’s starting lineup while Sunrisers Hyderabad has brought back Abhishek Sharma in place of Washington Sundar. The KKR have won two out of three games so far and are placed in the third position in the points table.

Gaikwad Becomes Joint-fastest To Score 1000 Runs, Equals To Tendulkar's Record

CSK opening batsman Rituraj Gaikwad reached match number 46 of the IPL 2022, between CSK and SRH, becoming the joint-fastest Indian to score 1000 runs. It is a new record in the history of IPL, equal to Sachin Tendulkar's record.Gaikwad scored 99 off 57, powered six sixes and many fours, securing a successful win against SRH. The match was held at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium.

BCCI Suspends Rest Of IPL After Many Players Tested COVID Positive

BCCI Vice-President Rajiv Shukla on May 4 announced that IPL is suspended due to players testing positive to COVID-19. He said that it is not cancelled and can be rescheduled later. The decision came along when Sunrisers Hyderabad player Wridihiman Saha and various other franchise members tested COVID positive. IPL chairman Brijesh Patel said that although suspended indefinitely, they will try to conduct it in next month

Warner's Poor Form Continues; SRH Names Kane Williamson As New Captain

Sunrisers Hyderabad management on May 1 removed its captain David Warner and gave the captainship to New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson for the remaining tournament. Reportedly, the southpaw Australian opener was not performing well as SRH lost five of the six games played at IPL2021. The franchise also pointed of changing the overseas combinations in the upcoming match against Rajasthan Royals on May 2.
