No Women In Maharashtra Cabinet Irks NCP MP, Women Activist Groups
Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde expanded his Cabinet, and included 18 MLAs as ministers, nine each from the BJP and Shiv Sena action, on August 9. However, there is no women in the ministry, which caused a stir amongst the opposition. Notably, National Congress Party (NCP) MP Supriya Sule lashed out at the Shiv Sena-BJP Government for not including any women in the Cabinet. "It shows BJP's mindset," said Sule.

NCP’s Supriya Sule Brings Bill To Legalise Same-Sex Marriage
NCP leader Supriya Sule introduced a private member’s bill that seeks to give equal rights of marriage to the LGBTQIA+ community. Proposed in the parliament on April 1, the bill demanded to replace the words husband, wife and suggested solemnizing such marriages and fixing the age of marriage at 21 years for both men,18 years in case of women. This Act may be called the Special Marriage (Amendment) Act, 2022.

Maharashtra: Senior NCP Leader Supriya Sule Bats for Reopening Gyms
Citing financial miseries faced by the gym owners, NCP MP Supriya Sule has requested Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray to re-open the gyms and fitness clubs. She said that gyms should also be brought under the state's 'Mission Begin Again', which aims to lift lockdown restrictions gradually. Earlier former CM and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis and MNS chief Raj Thackeray had also requested the state government to consider reopening gyms.
