Students To Make 2,000 Rakhis For Army Personnel At Indian Borders: Gujarat
In Gujarat's Surat, to mark the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, Divyang children in a school are making rakhis for the army personnel stationed at Indian borders. According to the school's spokesperson, the children of the school are making festival goodies since the last 15 years, and this year they have received an order to make 2,000 rakhis. The students will create it "with utmost sincerity and dedication," said the spokesperson.

Trucks Runs Over Police Constable Who Tried To Stop During Routine Night Patrol: Gujarat
In Gujarat's Borsad, a truck mowed down a police constable who tried to stop the truck, during the intervening night on July 19-20. The incident occurred at around 1 pm, when a police personnel who was on routine night patrol, decided to stop a truck out of suspicion. The truck driver, hesitant to stop, ran over the police constable, who then succumbed to his injuries. The driver is arrested.

60,000 Cusecs Of Water Released From Ukai Dam: Gujarat Rains
In Gujarat's Tapi, around 60,000 cusecs of water has been released from Ukai Dam in the past few days. The same has been built across tapi river. This has come after several parts of Gujarat witnessed widespread flooding and water-logging caused by incessant rains. Meanwhile CM Bhupendar Patel has reviewed the situation, and issued directions to ensure efficiency of relief operations.

Businessman & AAP leader Mahesh Savani Quits Party: Gujarat
A prominent industrialist from Surat and Patidar leader, Mahesh Savani, resigned from the Aam Aadmi Party, on January 17. He announced his resignation from the party citing ''personal reasons''. As per reports, Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia himself had come to Surat to invite him in the political party. 6 Killed, 20 Hospitalized Due To Gas Leakage Incident: Surat
At least six people have died and 20 were admitted to hospital on January 6, after a gas leakage incident. The incident happened at a company in Sachin GIDC in Surat, Gujarat, informed Dr. Omkar Chaudhary the in-charge of Superintendent of the hospital. Greenman Viral Desai Pays Unique Tribute To CDS General Bipin Rawat
Social activist Viral Desai, popularly known as "Greenman" paid a unique tribute to CDS General Bipin Rawat, his wife, and 11 others who lost their lives in the Tamil Nadu IAF helicopter crash. On December 11, Desai planted 13 trees in the Urban Forest Shahid Smriti van developed by Hearts at Work Foundation near Udhna railway station, Surat.
