In a shocking crime incident, a Telangana man was murdered in broad-day light near the Telangana High Court (HC.) Getting into the details, the victim identified as Mithun had an argument over Rs 10,000 with the accused. The accused, who surrendered to the Hyderabad Police, confessed his crime and said, he stabbed Mithun in anger after a quarrel regarding the money. A case has been registered and investigation is underway.

In Odisha's Kalahandi district, a Maoist identified as Lalsu surrendered before DIG Rajesh Pandit, SP Kalahandi Savarna Vivek, and CRPF Commandant Biplab Sarka on May 2. About 11 Maoists from the Sukma district surrendered to the police troops, on September 29, after 24 Maoists surrendered from the same district on September 27. As per government reports, the 11 Maoists were working as lower-level cadres and had warrants out for their arrest. As part of the government's surrender and rehabilitation program, police stated the Maoists will be given immediate aid and will be offered amenities.

Militants of five outfits, including PDCK top leader Ingti Kathar Songbijit and 1,039 others, surrendered in Assam on February 23. Songbijit, the former commander-chief of the banned National Democratic Front of Boroland, had been involved in massacres across the Bodoland Territorial Area Districts.
