Delhi Police Denies Wrestler Sushil Kumar's Arrest Claims

The Delhi Police on May 23 refuted media reports which claimed that absconding murder accused Sushil Kumar and his associate Ajay Kumar were arrested from Jalandhar. As of now, the police have sent ten teams to Punjab and Haryana for conducting raids to nab the wrestler. Besides, security guards, who were deployed at Chhatrasal Stadium during Kumar's brawl that led to the murder, have also been replaced with CISF personnel.

Wrestler Sushil Kumar Traced To Punjab; Raids Conducted To Nab Him

The Delhi Police have located absconding murder accused wrestler Sushil Kumar to be hiding in Punjab's Bathinda. Efforts to nab the wrestler have now begun as several teams have been conducting raids in parts of Punjab and Haryana. Earlier, Kumar was spotted at a toll plaza in Meerut. The police has booked the Olympic medalist for the murder of a 23-year-old wrestler in Delhi's Chhatrasal Stadium.

Murder Accused Wrestler Sushil Kumar Spotted At Meerut's Toll Plaza

The Delhi Police have received pictures of murder accused wrestler Sushil Kumar, which, according to sources, were taken at Meerut's toll plaza. The picture shows two men in a car, out of which the one wearing white T-shirt is suspected to be Kumar. Earlier, the Delhi Police had announced a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh to the providers of any lead on Sushil who is absconding since May 4.

Wrestler Sushil Kumar's Plea For Bail In Murder Case Rejected

Wrestler Sushil Kumar's plea for an anticipatory bail has been rejected by a Delhi Court on May 18. Refusing the bail, the court said the accusations against the Olympian, charged for the murder of a wrestler after a brawl, are of serious nature. It also observed that Kumar prima facie seems as the main conspirator. Earlier, Sushil Kumar had filed for the bail on May 17, citing a biased investigation.

Delhi’s Rohini Court on May 18 reserved the decision on the anticipatory bail plea filed by absconding Olympian wrestler Sushil Kumar. The court will announce the decision on May 18 evening. The development came after the Delhi police issued a non-bailable warrant on two time Olympian Sushil along with announcing Rs 1 lakh bounty on him. Reportedly, Sushil has been on the run after the alleged murder of 23-year-old wrestler.

Delhi Court Issues Non-bailable Warrant Against Wrestler Sushil Kumar

Wrestler Sushil Kumar and 6 others have been slapped with a non-bailable warrant in connection with a murder case. A Delhi Court on May 15 accepted the police's request, issuing the warrant. The police had already issued a lookout notice against Kumar after a wrestler was killed in Delhi's Chhatrasal Stadium. While Kumar is still absconding, the police have been conducting raids at several places in Delhi-NCR and nearby states.
