Congress DAC Suspends Lok Sabha MP Praneet Kaur
The Congress suspended Praneet Kaur, the wife of former Punjab CM Captain Amrinder Gill. On February 3, the party said, Lok Sabha MP Kaur has been suspended by the Disciplinary Action Committee (DAC) for anti party activities to help the BJP. "Hon'ble Congress President has received a complaint from Shri Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, President, PCC Punjab alleging that Smt. Preneet Kaur," read the press release.

Indian javelin thrower Shivpal Singh has been suspended from competing till October 2025 due to a doping violation. On October 2, Singh tested positive for the banned substance methandienone, a performance-enhancing steroid, following which the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) suspended Shivpal Singh for four years. BJP Leader Seema Patra Suspended For Alleged Abuse Of Maid: Jharkhand
The BJP Jharkhand Unit suspended party leader Seema Patra, for allegedly abusing and starving her 29-year-old domestic helper. On August 31, the Party said, "BJP has zero tolerance for atrocities against SC and ST communities. When the incident regarding the brutality of a maid working in BJP leader Seema Patra's house came into the public domain, the BJP president immediately suspended her". An inquiry has also been ordered.

Heavy Rain Causes Temporary Suspension Of Vaishno Devi Yatra
The yatra to Vaishno Devi temple atop Trikuta hills in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi region was momentarily halted on August 19 due to flash floods caused by heavy rain. Anshul Garg, Chief Executive Officer of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, stated the situation was under control and that no casualties or damage had been reported. Disaster management teams and medical units are on standby to respond to any emergency.

3 CSIF Commanders Dismissed From Service Over Security Breach At NSA Doval's Residence
Amid security breach, three CISF commandos have been dismissed from service and two senior officers of its VIP security unit. Notably, a security breach was reported at the residence of National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval. After the investigation, three CSIF officials were dismissed, said the central government officials. SAI Suspends Coach Accused Of Harassing Cyclist Sexually
The Sports Authority of India (SAI) suspended RK Sharma's contract on June 8 after a top Indian women cyclist accused him of sexual harassment. SAI stated that "prima facie, the case is established and the allegations of the athlete are found to be true." The Cycling Federation of India (CFI) acknowledged the complainant and the coach in a separate statement, saying it stands "with the complainant."

Sonamarg-Zojila Road Closes Due To Snowfall In Kashmir
The Sonamarg-Zojila road in Kashmir has been closed by authorities on January 3, after upper reaches of Ganderbal district received fresh snowfall. Keeping in view slippery condition and fresh snowfall, Sonamarg-Zojila road has been closed as a precautionary measure, an official said.
