ISKON Monk Banned Over Controversial Comments Against Swami Vivekananda

The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (Iskcon) banned an engineer turned monk for his 'derogatory' remarks against Swami Vivekanand. On July 11,  Amogh Lila Das, a monk confessed to his crime of saying problematic comments against his guru and philosopher Swami Vivekananda and said, he would therefore cut himself off from all social life for one month as part of atonement, said the ISKON trust in a press release.

PM Modi Pays Tribute To Swami Vivekananda On His Birth Anniversary

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 12, paid tribute to Swami Vivekananda on his birth anniversary. The PM said that he devoted his life working towards nation-building and national regeneration. "Let us keep working together to fulfill the dreams he had for our nation," the PM tweeted. On January 12, National Youth Day is celebrated across the country. Meanwhile, PM Modi will inaugurate the 25th National Youth Festival in Puducherry.
