Autism-Affected Girl Swims From Sri Lanka To Dhanushkodi, Creates World Record
Daughter of Navy Officer Madan Rai, who is also an autistic child, created history by swimming from Sri Lanka to Dhanushkodi in just 13 hours. The 13-year-old Jiya Rai started swimming as per doctor's advice, after she lost the ability to speak. Jiya also holds a record for swimming in open at 14 km/hour speed. Notably, Jiya has been awarded 2022 Pradhanmantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar in the open swimming category.

Denmark Man Swims 662 Feet In Single Breath; Sets World Record
In what could be called as a breath-taking attempt, Denmark's Stig Severinson has set a Guinness World Record by swimming 662 feet and 8.7 inches in a single breath. Stig swam into the La Paz in Mexico and created the new feat by holding his breath for 2 minute and 42 seconds. The record was attempted to motivate children and raise the public's awareness about protecting oceans and wildlife.
