T20 World Cup

The Rohit Sharma-led Team India will kick off their 2022 T20 World Cup campaign in Australia with two practice matches Down Under, starting from October 16. Notably, India is scheduled to play the hosts in the first practice match on October 17 and New Zealand on October 19. The Indian team will get into action in the Super 12 stage, encountering arch-rivals Pakistan on October 23.

The Indian cricket squad, led by Rohit Sharma, left for Australia on morning of October 6, for the upcoming ICC Men's T20 World Cup. Notably, the ICC Men's T20 World Cup is set to begin in Australia, from October 16.  The BCCI social media accounts posted a picture of the Team India contingent departing for Australia and captioned it "Picture perfect, let's do this #TeamIndia. @cricketworldcup here we come," 

Ahead of the upcoming match against England in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021, New Zealand pacer Adam Milne said his team is confident to defeat any opposition on November 7. His remark came after New Zealand defeated Afghanistan by eight wickets on the same day. However, Jason Roy may not join the team due to his calf injury. New Zealand and England will lock horns on November 10. 

After India's two consecutive defeats in the T20 World Cup, the team's hopes of reaching the semi-finals almost ended. Bumrah has blamed the bubble for what is the reason for India's poor performance. India's pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah said that "bubble fatigue" is a bitter reality of the present times.  India lost to New Zealand by eight wickets and to Pakistan by 10 wickets, so far.

India will play ICC T20 World Cup 2021 against Pakistan on October 24 in Dubai. The World Cup will start on October 17 and will end on November 14. Reportedly, there will be two groups comprising 8 teams, including Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, New Zealand, England, Australia, South Africa, and West Indies. Amid the surging Covid-19 cases in India, the match this year will be hosted by UAE and Oman.
