The BCCI officially announced wicket-keeper batter Sanju Samson to be a replacement of KL Rahul in the T20 Internationals, in West Indies series. On July 29, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah announced, "KL Rahul was earlier named in the squad and his participation in the T20I series was subject to fitness. Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) revealed an 18-man team for the forthcoming five-match T20I series against South Africa, which begins on June 9.
