Sharath, Manika Lose The Opening Game At 2020 Tokyo Olympics

India's Sharath Kamal and Manika Batra were knocked out of the mixed doubles Table Tennis event at the Tokyo Olympics in the round of 16 after losing 0-4 to Chinese Taipei team; Lin Yun-Ju and Cheng I-Ching. The Indians had a good start with a 5-1 lead in the first game. However, the Chinese Taipei TT team, which ranks No. 1 in the world recovered soon and won the game.

Maharashtra Boy Creates Record Of Most Alternate Hits In Table Tennis

In a unique record, a 14-year-old boy from Maharashtra has made a Guinness World Record for most alternate hits using a table tennis paddle within an hour. Reportedly, Latur-based P.Harikrishna made 9,512 alternate hits in an hour and has broken the previous record by more than a thousand hits. The youngster, in his felicitation ceremony, has praised his parents for their support and motivation.

Table Tennis: Durban Emerges Favourite For 2023 World Championships

The International Table Tennis Federation confirmed that the 2023 World Table Tennis Championships will be conducted in Durban, South Africa. The decision was taken after 90 federation members voted in favour of Durban while only 39 endorsed previous host Dusseldorf. Durban becomes the first South African city to organize the event.
