Family Of 4 Sri Lankan Refugees Arrive At Tamil Nadu's Ramanathapuram Via Boat

In Tamil Nadu's Ramanathapuram, a family of four Sri Lankan Tamils arrived at Mandapam district, calling themselves "refugees", on August 13. The four were mother and three children, who reportedly hailed from Sri Lanka's Trikonamalai. Reportedly, the family arrived at Ramanathapuram's beach area via boat, at around 4 am. Over 134 Sri Lankan refugees have arrived so far, informed Q branch police.

Archeologists Find 1038 AD Stone Tablet With Tamil Vatteluttu Inscriptions: Tiruppur

Archaeologists in Tamil Nadu's Paranchervazhi village in Kangayam, have found a stone tablet with Tamil Vatteluttu script inscribed on it. The tablet belonging to 1038 AD, has a height of 90 cm and width of 30 cm. It contains 17 lines referring to the offering of grants to a Shiva temple or Jain temple in the Chola dynasty. The tablet also mentions the name of ruler Vikrama Chozhan's father Kokalimoorkkan.

Madhavan's Directional Debut 'Rocketry' First Trailer Unveiled

The trailer of the biographical drama 'Rocketry: The Nambi Effect' released on April 1. Starring Madhavan in the lead, the film is based on the life of aerospace engineer Nambi Narayanan, whose life turns upside-down after being accused of espionage. Shot in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and English, the film marks Madhavan's directional debut. The film is slated for a summer release in 2021.

TN Leaders Condemn Demolition Of Mullivaikkal Monument In Sri Lanka

Tamil Nadu CM K Palaniswami and Opposition Leader MK Stalin have denounced the reported demolition of a civil war memorial monument in Sri Lanka. Constructed in 2019, the monument in the premises of Jaffna University commemorated Tamil civilians who were killed in Mullivaikkal in 2009. Tagging PMO in his tweet, MK Stalin has urged the Centre to condemn the incident citing it as a blow to the Tamil sentiments.
