Former Congress Leader CR Kesavana Joins BJP

In another drawback to the Congress, the former leader and grandson of C Rajagopalachari, CR Kesavana joined the BJP. On April 8, Kesavana joined the opposition, ahead of the 2024 General elections and Tamil Nadu elections. The joining event occurred during the arrival of PM Narendra Modi, in Tamil Nadu. After joining the party, CR Kesavana said, "I want to thankyou for inducting me into the world's largest political party-BJP."

DMDK Walks Out Of BJP-AIADMK Alliance In Tamil Nadu

Ahead of the Tamil Nadu Assembly polls, the Vijayakanth-led DMDK has walked out of the AIADMK alliance that includes the BJP and PMK. Announcing the exit, Vijayakanth stated, "the DMDK resolved unanimously to walk out of the AIADMK alliance."
