Pakistan Minister Holds Meeting With IMF Over $7 Billion Loan
The Pakistani government has received a memorandum on the terms and conditions from the IMF for the completion of a USD 7 billion loan programme. Pakistan Finance Minister Ishaq Dar confirmed the development with awaited staff-level-agreement after a meeting with the IMF delegation. It is to be noted, Pakistan is facing a major economic crisis, and is looking for a loan to overcome the crisis.

UP Government Announces 'Dog Tax,' Pet Owners To Pay About Rs 630 Annually
The "Dog Tax" was announced by government officials in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. Depending on the type of dog, pet owners may be required to pay more than Rs.100. The Municipal Corporation formerly charged a levy of Rs.500 on costly breed dogs and Rs.200 on locally bred canines. Now citizens will be required to pay around Rs.630 annually. A license would also be required to keep a pet dog at home.

Govt Imposes Windfall Tax On Domestic Crude Oil; Export Tax On Petrol, Diesel
Government imposed taxes on petrol and ATF exports of Rs 6 per litre and diesel exports of Rs 13 per litre on July 1. Government also imposed an additional tax of Rs 23,230 per tonne on locally produced crude oil to offset windfall benefits flowing to producers from high international oil prices. The export tax follows oil refiners, notably the private sector, who profit enormously from exporting fuel to international markets.

Indian Government Decreases Base Import Price Of Palm Oil While Raising Price Of Soy Oil
India has reduced the basic import costs of crude and refined palm oil while increasing the price of crude soy oil, according to a government statement issued late on May 31. Every two weeks, the government updates the basic import prices for edible oils, gold, and silver, which compute the amount of tax an importer must pay. India permitted duty-free imports of 2 million tonnes of soy oil last week.

Centre Happy To Bring Fuel Under GST, If States Support: Hardeep Puri
Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Puri has said that the Central Government would be happy to bring petroleum and diesel under GST, but that the states are not willing. Puri insisted that the government is taking responsibility, and suggested that the states should also try, and cut down the value-added taxes on fuel. He also chalked up the oil price hike to the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

Madhya Pradesh Government Calls Off Tax On Wheat Exported From State
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, on March 24, announced to cancel tax on wheat exported from the state. In addition, the exporters can now buy wheat from mandis or farmers directly, informed the CM. “Railway Board has assured us to provide racks for wheat export,” he further added. Currently, India is holding conversations with countries such as Egypt, China, Nigeria, and other countries to export wheat.
