The Rohit Sharma-led Team India will kick off their 2022 T20 World Cup campaign in Australia with two practice matches Down Under, starting from October 16. Notably, India is scheduled to play the hosts in the first practice match on October 17 and New Zealand on October 19. The Indian team will get into action in the Super 12 stage, encountering arch-rivals Pakistan on October 23.

Indian Cricketer Parthiv Patel on December 9 announced about his retirement from cricket, ending an 18-year professional cricket career. The 35-year-old played 25 Tests, 38 ODIs, and two T20s for India. The last international appearance of Patel was in a test match played against the South Africa at Johannesburg in January 2018. One of the youngest debutant in Indian cricket after Sachin Tendulkar, Piyush Chawla and L Sivaramakrishnan.
