India To Finalize $700 Million Defense Pact With United States
India is set to sign a defense pact with the United States to procure 100 fighter jet engines from US-based General Electric (GE) for a whopping $700 million. Negotiations to acquire fighter jet engines that will power Indian Tejas Light Combat Aircraft are almost absolute. Meanwhile, the agreement would be earmarked as the biggest India-US defense deal since February 2020 when India procured multi-role helicopters from the US.

HAL To Launch Upgraded Combat Jet 'Tejas Mark II' In 2022
The Hindustan Aeronautics Limited has announced to launch an upgraded version of the indigenous combat jet Tejas - 'Tejas Mark II' - in August-September 2022. While the upgraded version will have a much powerful engine and a greater load-carrying capacity, it will also be equipped with next-generation electronic warfare system.
