Hyderabad Wins World Green City Award, Only Indian City To Win Title
Telangan's Capital, Hyderabad secured 'World Green City" title at the International Association of Horticulture Producers (AIPH) World Green City Awards 2022 held in Jeju, South Korea. As per sources, Hyderabad is the only Indian city to make it to the list of World's Green City and win the award. With this, Hyderabad beat cities like Paris, Mexico City, Montreal, Fortaleza and Bogota to be adjudged the grand winner.

Central Govt Approves Cable-Cum Bridge Between AP & Telangana
The Central Government approved the pending cable-cum iconic bridge over the Krishna River, between the two states, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. On October 13, Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari announced the same on Twitter, saying the Central Government will approve Rs 1,082.56 crore for the construction, which will be finished in a duration of a period of 30 months, which wil be second largest bridge in India.

TRS Team Visits Delhi To Submit BRS Resolution Copy to ECI
After Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao announced TRS as a national party, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi, the party leaders went to Delhi to present the BRS resolution to the Central Election Commission. Telangana Govt Raises ST Reservations By 4% Educational Institutions & Govt Services
The state government of Telangana has increased the reservation for Scheduled Tribe (ST) community by 4% in all educational institutions and government services. The new quota has come into immediate effect. The ST reservations in the state now stands at 10%, compared to the previous 6%. Reportedly, the move has been taken keeping in mind the 10% ST population in the state.

Veteran Tollywood Actor, Ex-Minister UV Krishnam Raju Passes Away
Veteran actor in the Tollywood film industry and former union minister Uppalapati Venkata Krishnam Raju has passed away at the age of 82, in Telangana’s Hyderabad, on September 11. He was admitted to a private hospital following a brief illness, and passed away in the early hours of the day. Reportedly, he is survived by his wife Shyamala Devi and three daughters- Praseedi, Prakeerthi and Pradeepthi.
