Pune: Closure Of General Motors Plant Brings Employees To High Court
The Bombay High Court has received a petition from employee union of US-based carmaker General Motors, as the company's plant in Pune's Telegaon nears closure. The union alleged that GM is firing its 1,587 employees out of employment for hefty profits by selling the plant to Chinese SUV manufacturer. Resisting the closing application that expires after January, the union further stated GM's decisions to be against the public interest.
