Telegram Launches New Service: Telegram Premium

Telegram has revealed a new premium membership service. Telegram Premium will include special features such as faster download speeds, greater file upload sizes, and so on. Users will be able to transfer files up to 4GB in size. Users may also follow up to 1,000 channels and establish up to 20 chat folders, each with 200 chats. A basic Telegram Premium subscription would cost around $4.99 per month.

Telegram To Introduce Premium Subscription Plan

Telegram Premium will be introduced later in June, according to Pavel Durov, the CEO of the messaging app Telegram. Users will be required to pay for some functions beginning in June. Telegram, on the other hand, will not charge for existing features and would only charge for new ones. Durov stated that some of the capabilities would be available to users who have not subscribed to Telegram Premium.

Brazil Shuts Down Messaging App Telegram For Ignoring Rules

The Supreme Court of Brazil on March 18, ordered the ban on messaging app Telegram citing that it has not cooperated with authorities. “The Telegram platform, at every possible opportunity, failed to heed judicial orders in a total disregard for the Brazilian judiciary,” stated an official. Notably, some smartphone companies are notified for a five-day period to block Telegram from their platforms.

Telegram-Verified 'Donate' To Accept Crypto Payments Soon

Telegram will soon accept crypto payments via chats, announced co-founder Pavel Durov. Telegram Open Network (TON) was a blockchain project started in partnership with Telegram. However, Telegram officially stepped back, following which Toncoin has become as its independent project. In partnership with 'Donate', the Telegram verified payment platform, will allow the users to donate and pay through bitcoin (crypto currency).

70 Million Join Telegram When Facebook, Insta & WhatsApp Go down

Russian Court Demands Facebook, Twitter & Telegram To Pay Heavy Fines

Russian District court Tagansky on Sept 14 has heavily fined US tech giants Facebook, Twitter, and Telegram for the delay in removing "illegal" content from their site. Reportedly, Facebook was fined about $21 million, Twitter about $5 million, and Telegram about $9 million. So far, none of the Tech giants have responded regarding the fines. This move is seen as a crackdown on the internet by Russia.
