Uttarakhand Govt Withdraws Char Dham Devasthanam Management Board Act

The Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami on November 30 announced withdrawal of the Uttarakhand Char Dham Devasthanam Management Board Act 2019. His decision was based on a high-level committee's report, set by the government. The act proposed to bring Char Dham (Gangotri, Yamunotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath) and 49 shrines under the board. However, the priests did not agree to make a board saying it was encroachment upon their rights.

Hindu Temples Under Possible Threat In Several Areas Of J&K

Security agencies suspect an attack on temples and Hindu-majority areas in J&K by Pakistan-based militant groups to create communal riots. The news comes days after 16 suspected militants were arrested with arms and ammunition, three drone drops, and intelligence input of few months. Delhi HC To Hear Suit On Restoring Temples At Qutub Minar Complex

The Delhi High Court will hear a case on December 24 considering the restoration of 27 Hindu and Jain temples in the Qutub Minar complex. Reportedly, a plea was filed on behalf of Lord Vishnu and Tirthankar Lord Rishab Dev by three advocates on 'next friend' basis. The suit has sought restoration under Article 25 and 26 of Indian Constitution which offers Right to Religion and demands to create a trust.
