NIA Receives Threat Mail Linked To Taliban
The National Investigation Agency’s (NIA) Mumbai office received an email threatening that a person would carry out a terror attack in the financial capital. The email claimed that a person linked to the Taliban would carry out the attack in Mumbai, confirmed sources. Following the threat, the city police and the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) were alerted and enhanced security in the region.

Punjab Police Busts Terror Module, Arrested 4 Ahead of Independence Day
In Punjab, the state police claimed to have busted a Pakistan ISI-backed terror module. On August 14, the terror outfit was busted and four persons were arrested with three hand grenades, one IED (improvised explosive device), two pistols and 40 cartridges. The arrest was made after a joint operation was carried out jointly by the Punjab Police and the Delhi Police. The bust was made ahead of the 76th-Independence Day.
