Nick Compton Calls Virat Kohli "Most Foul-Mouthed Individual"
The Indian and England cricket team engaged in a series of verbal arguments during the second Test match at Lord's on August 16 inviting some backlash from former England cricketer Nick Compton. Compton called Virat Kohli the "most foul-mouthed induvidual" in a tweet that he deleted later. "I'll never forget the barrage of abuse I received in 2012" he stated. However, Compton received backlash from netizens for his comments.

Mahmudullah Announces Sudden Retirement From Test Cricket
Bangladesh all-rounder Mahmudullah made a sudden announcement of retiring from Test cricket amidst the ongoing test match against Zimbabwe. Reacting to the retirement, BCB President, Nazmul Hassan said “Such an announcement will have a negative impact on the team. It is unacceptable.” This was Mahmudullah’s 50th test match and he celebrated the occasion by scoring his fifth Test century in the first innings.

Youngest Woman Cricketer Shefali Verma Hits Two-Half Century Against England
Shefali Verma, a 17-year-old becomes the youngest woman batsman to score two-half century in her debut match. Earlier, the record was held by Australia’s Jessica Louise Jonassen, who was 22 when she achieved the milestone. Shefali achieved the landmark on June 18, while playing a one-off test against England at Bristol. Only two other woman batsmen Sri Lanka’s Vanessa Bowen and England’s Lesley Cooke have achieved this record.

WTC: New Zealand To Play Finals; India, England Fight For Spot
New Zealand cricket team has qualified for the finals of the inaugural ICC World Test Championship that is to be played at the Lord's cricket ground. The confirmation came after Australia aborted their tour of South Africa following the outbreak of new variant of COVID-19. While Australia has the least chance of qualifying, India and England will compete for the second spot of the finals in the upcoming Test series.

BCCI Permits TNCA To Host Second Test Match With 50% Crowd
BCCI has permitted Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) to conduct India's first international match since the pandemic with 50% crowd capacity. Reportedly, the TNCA would host the first two Tests between India and England scheduled for February 5 and 13 following all protocols laid down by the government. While the club members and media were allowed for the first Test, the approval would allow fans for the second test.
