Malayalam Actress Found Dead At Thiruvananthapuram Residence, Probe Underway
Malayalam actor Aparna P Nair was found dead at her house in Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) on Thursday, August 31. She was 31. As per sources, Aparna was found unconscious at her home on August 31 evening. She was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival. The Karamana police has now registered a case of unnatural death and further investigation is underway.

Auto Driver In Kerala Wins Rs 25 Crore Onam Bumper Lottery
Auto driver Anoop, from Kerala’s Thiruvananthapuram, has won this year’s Onam bumper lottery of Rs 25 crore. Anoop had reportedly purchased the ticket from Bhagavathy Agency on September 17. Reportedly, Anoop is a regular autorickshaw driver, who once worked as a chef. The lucky draw was done by the state Finance Minister KN Balagopal in the presence of transport minister Antony Raju.

Kerala Seeks SC Permission To Kill Violent, Rabies Infected Cannines
The state government of Kerala seeked permission from the Supreme Court of India to kill violent rabies-infected dogs. Meanwhile, Minister for local self governments MB Rajesh informed that the state will conduct a massive vaccine drive to vaccinate stray dogs. The drive is scheduled to be conducted between September 20 and October 20. This has come after the death toll started to increase due to stray dog bites.

Landslide In Kerala’s Idukki Claims Lives Of 3; 2 Others Missing
In Kerala’s Idukki, a landslide in the early hours on August 29, has claimed the lives of three persons including a minor boy. Also, the incident has left two other persons missing. Kerala Assembly Sessions Begin; Bills To Replace ‘Ordinance Raj’ On Agenda
Kerala assembly sessions are scheduled to being on August 22, and the sessions will be carried out for 10 days. Kerala HC Grants Permission To Abort 24 Weeks Pregnancy Of Minor Rape Victim
In a landmark judgement, Kerala HC has granted permission for the medical termination of 24 weeks pregnancy of a 15-year-old rape victim. The court stated that if the baby is born alive, "the hospital shall ensure best medical treatment". The court also stated that if the victim is not willing to assume responsibility for the baby, the government shall provide the baby with medical and other facilities.
