Hong Kong Authorities Ban Tiananmen Vigil For 2nd Consecutive Year
Tiananmen vigil organizers on May 27 announced that the Hong Kong police have refused to conduct the gathering on June 4 for the second consecutive year. Reportedly, the police cited COVID-19 situation for the decision. The vigil marks China's Tiananmen Square crackdown event, and it has been conducted in Hong Kong for more than three decades. However, the organizers urged people to light candles irrespective of their location.
