Tamil Nadu Plans To Create Its 5th, India's 51st Tiger Reserve
The Tamil Nadu government on February 8 announced to create its fifth and India's 51st tiger reserve. Named as 'Srivilliputhur Megamalai Tiger Reserve', the 1,00,000-hectare reserve will include forests of Megamalai Wildlife Sanctuary and Srivilliputhur grizzled squirrel wildlife sanctuary. MP Now Houses Country's First Tiger Reserve Hot Air Balloon Safari
Madhya Pradesh on December 25 launched India's first hot air balloon wildlife safari in a tiger reserve. Launched in the Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve located in the state's Umaria district, the safari will be contained to buffer zone only. Tiger Goes Missing from Rajaji Reserve Forest
A 20-year-old tigress named T1 went missing from Uttarakhand’s Rajaji Tiger Reserve in Motichur. T1 was last spotted several months back on the cameras installed along the range.
