Tihar Jail

The Director General of Tihar Jail has been ordered by the Delhi Court to install CCTV cameras within the offices of the jail's Superintendent and Deputy Superintendent. The court recently issued an order, stating, "It will further reflect transparency in the functioning of these offices." This was in response to an incident on March 27 where an inmate was reportedly mistreated within the chamber of the Deputy Superintendent in Jail.

Delhi court requested a report from Tihar Jail officials on Khalid Saifi's appeal for medical testing and treatment on July 25. Saifi is said to have excessive blood sugar, a fever, and diarrhea. The prison administration is set to install five-seven more network jammers inside the high-security ward, for high-profile criminals. In a shocking incident, a prisoner of Tihar Jail, Delhi swallowed a 7 cm long and 3 cm wide mobile. However, the dangerous stunt landed him into severe stomach pain, following which a team of doctors at GB Pant Hospital, performed endoscopy and took out the phone from the prisoner's mouth. Dr. Siddharth of GB Pant Hospital said, this is not the first time such cases came. 

Wrestler Sushil Kumar, currently imprisoned at Tihar jail under Sagar Dhnakar's murder case, has demanded a TV in the jail premises to stay updated on wrestling. However, there is no update on whether his demand will be accepted or not. Earlier, Kumar had requested a Delhi court for special food and supplements to keep himself fit for wrestling but it was rejected.
