INDIA,BLOC Announces List Of News Channels, Anchors To Be Boycotted

In a massive development, The Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) bloc of opposition parties on Thursday decided to boycott four TV news channels and 14 TV news anchors. The leaders have come up with the decision over their alleged provocative and communal debate, misleading nation from the real matters and issues, making things communal. The channels include Times Now, Republic Bharat, Sudarshan News and Doordarshan.

SC Issues Interim Protection Orders For Times Now Anchor Navika Kumar

Times Now News Anchor Navika Kumar has been given interim protection by the Supreme Court. On August 8, the Top Court reviewed a petition filed by Kumar against multiple FIRs, legal notices against her over the prophet remark of suspended BJP Spokesperson Nupur Sharma on their channel. As per the SC bench led by Justices Krishna Murari and Hima Kohli issued the orders, protecting Kumar from legal FIRs.

'Times Now' Decides Not To Show Poll Results Coverage On May 2

Citing to give primary importance to COVID-19, English news channel 'Times Now' has decided to pull down assembly election results coverage on May 2. Becoming the first national TV channel to do so, the channel as a ‘symbolic gesture’ will give utmost priority to COVID-related reports. Moreover, while 'Bharat Samachar' and ‘Mojo Story' have opted a similar move, Republic TV and India Today will continue to cover poll results.

Times Group Demands Rs 450 Cr For Damages From BARC Over TRP Scam

Indian media conglomerate 'The Times Group' has sent a legal notice to Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC), demanding a compensation of Rs 450 crores. It accused the TV rating agency of manipulating viewership details of its English news channel.
